What is a Shiatsu Massage?
Shiatsu is the art of healing touch, which dates back to ancient China and Japan. The Japanese word “shiatsu” means “to press with your thumbs.” Shiatsu therapy, known as “acupuncture without needles”, is an effective method to treat many health problems: insomnia, back pain, headaches, digestive disorders, diseases caused by tension and stress. Shiatsu therapy calms the nerves, adds vitality and disease prevention. Patient during the procedure lies on the mat in a comfortable position. The therapist is working on his body at the level of the superficial and deep, freeing it relaxing sensations, often described as “pleasant pain”. Compression of the fingers to specific points of the body should produce a relaxation effect. Shiatsu therapy is also great for those who claim that they did not do wrong and feel good, because after a Shiatsu session will feel even better.
